Mud Festival

Quick, what did you first picture when you read the title?

A huge area full of people flinging sticky, gloopy, viscous muck at each other? Or maybe you're a more conservative and rational thinking person, who pictured some slides and a pool of mud with the consistency of your poop after a particularly dodgy Ramly burger?

At least that's what we had in mind. I think it's fair to say we were slightly disappointed when we rocked up to this after a 3 hour bus ride.

Less mud, more diluted cemenht. Where were the pools of mud that people were desperately trying to throw each other in? How come I couldn't grab some and fling it at unsuspecting people?

Bit of a let down, but to be fair, what we got instead wasn't all that bad. There were still inflatable slides, obstacle courses, wrestling pits, etc and everyone around seemed to be having fun. The whole atmosphere was infectious and we were desperate to be a part of it, so we entered the mud zone and slapped on some of it on our bodies in an attempt to blend in and look like we were having fun.

Wrestling Pit

First up was the wrestling pit. Ahead of us in the queue were three massive guys. We intentionally left a large, awkward gap in between us and them because fuck that, I didn't want to go home in a wheelchair.

When our round started I slipped and fell on my back almost immediately, much to the delight of the Korean dude who was commentating on the proceedings. Adilet made sure I wasn't on my feet for long right after when he grabbed my ankle out from underneath, ensuring I enjoyed an intimate moment with the floor.

Thankfully I managed to salvage some of my rapidly diminishing dignity by flipping him twice and taking Aminah down, but I left that pit less of a man than when I had entered.

Slide

This was basically a two storey inflatable slide with mud at the bottom. I held hands with Aminah and jumped. She didn't. We ended up spinning our way down. It was awesome.

Beach Party

Probably worth staying the night for this, unfortunately we only got to experience the one during the day, which was pretty fun anyways. They play the usual party music but there's foam and water being sprayed at you with beach balls and floats flying everywhere. Can't really go wrong with that combination. But you certainly can improve it with alcohol so that's what we did.

Beach

Cold. So cold. Float rental made sure it was fun though. With the number of people there though I'm pretty sure the pH level of the water was all pee and no H.

Showers

Remember Korea and it's love for dongs? Yeah.

30 naked men, some with their kids, cramped into a showering room with no cubicles separating each shrivelled up flaccid penis from the next, washing themselves and each other while unabashedly holding casual conversations.

"So where are we headed for dinner later?"

"I don't know, lets grab some hot dogs."
